CD Calkins More Art
Many of the concepts and themes represented in my current work were developed in a small format, and then built upon to create a new series.

Using brayers, rollers, bubble wrap, kitchen tools and other interesting textures I indulge the eye with textures and patterns allowing the image in the painting to reveal itself.

My emotional response throughout the application of the brayer or brush of paint is used to develop the image, identifying the story the painting wants to tell. With a bright color pallet and a love of moving paint and materials around I can continue to bring new ideas to my art and share them.
